Sybrina Fulton: Belated Mother's Day Wish
On MSNBC's the Melissa Harris-Perry Show this past Sunday, a new public service announcement from Trayvon Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, seemed to be a profound meditation on motherhood, loss, and grief turned into activism. Like Mamie Till and so many other black mothers before her, Sybrina Fulton steps into a long tradition of community activism sparked by personal grief. ITYC would like to send out special belated Mother's Day love and prayers to Sybrina Fulton, Marissa Alexander and all the other mothers across the world who have been touched by injustice and loss.
