50 Years of Indigenous Protest Music

Native America Calling recently broadcast poet, artist, and writer Janet Roger's (Mohawk,Six Nations) radio documentary Bring Your Drum which explores the history of indigenous protest music. Rogers interviews a host of Native musical luminaries in the documentary, including John Trudell (Santee Sioux) and Murray Porter (Mohawk, Six Nations).  She also interviews Elaine Bomberry (Six Nations, Grand River) who did a great series about Native blues music called Rez Bluez.
